In 1994 a new woodworking tool with hundreds of tiny razors made its way into the kitchen. A Canadian homemaker, frustrated with her zester, rummaged through her husband’s woodshop for an alternative tool to zest an orange. She walked back to her kitchen, Microplane® rasp in hand.
